Hi guys newbie qiestion here,
I'm building a K3 650 for my 15 year old lad to compete in minitwins next year. I'm trying to find a base setting for the front springs and oil for the forks? He is 60Kg without leathers and helmet, does anyone have an idea as to what sort of springs to start with and oil weight? Also can I have opinions on the best rear shock and exhaust for the injected model? Jamie ![]() |

if its any good to you, im 76kg, i rode my curvy at the manx this year with standard oil settings in the front, with maxton springs and spacers, £100,,,,,,,maxton rt10 unit in the rear backed right off, ok i wasnt the fastest out there but, the bike handled great, i kept the standard header pipes whith shortened race can 125mph through sulby . on a bog standard motor,

I've been there, I know anyone that goes racing there is either barking mad or brave, in a sense a hero.
I would love to do a race on the mountain course, and set sub 8 min laps on the Nordschleife, but after I felt the first kick on the missus tummy I kinda became reprogrammed. Some time in the Spring of 2009 "Father program activated, loading... Standby for verification, Sold road Gixer, Father program active verified, Suicidal Biker program deleted...." |

takes alot more balls to be a parent thease days than riding round on a motorbike, so many evil influsences to keep the kids away from, and a government so steeped in political correctness that they offer no help to a parent that wishes to bring children up the correct way, all the lefty tossers that the country have been listening to for the past god knows how long, please go and poison yourselves,...political point made,,,,,to be honest i think alot of riders will tell you, its more about riding round in your own space, at your own ability, and your own speed, ( slow in my case), than swapping paint in a 10 lap dash at mallory, i must add that i was a newcomer this year, so iv only just scratched the surface when it comes to the manx ,

Many thanks for the reply, with that sort of weight advantage I'm hoping I won't have to spend too much on the bike compared to you guys!!! Front forks are sorted but can't decide where to spend my money when it comes to the ear shock or exhaust system.
