Default Dreaming about an SV

Hi all, been riding a Yamaha r125 for 7 months now, bored to death of power, looking at moving upto sv650 33bhp restricted when I turn 18, opinions and advice would be very helpful, did test at 17, and sv looks right down my street (fully faired)

Cheers,
Mike

I love it. I found mine pretty easily. if you get a pointy, get an ecu restrictor as they are much smoother I found. Where abouts you from, and how long until you are 18? I am guessing 5 months?

I love my restricted sv. Had it 3 months and grin ever time I give it a grip full and the race can comes alive.

my curvy restricted was just as smooth i'd say, i had no complaints about it when it was restricted at all! curvy's are also dead easy to restrict, all you need is 2 washers to stick into the carbs n i'm sure there'll be someone here that'll sell you their old ones too (would sell you mine but, i did that a couple of years ago). a curvy will also be cheaper to buy than a pointy on the fact of them being older.

Found a few hanging around at dreamy prices low mileage models around 3k, looking fully faired blue... Stubby can, although I don't really care as I can replace, it sounds so nice lol!! Any odd characteristics or are they feeling normal on restrictor?

mine felt exactly the same when it was restricted compared to now, the only difference was a bit more power at the top end really. if you've got 3k to spend then you should be able to get an 08/09 plate i'd say (not sure tho!), i would say to you, get one that's not fully faired n try it for a good few months first and then buy some lowers from here or ebay etc. maintenance is so much easier to do when you don't have to kepp taking the lowers off all the time.
