Default Need a cheap intercom to work with Autocom SPA.

Hi all,

Let me explain briefly my problem if I may,

I've just got myself an Autocom SPA-2 kit so great for bike to pillion. I then bought two cobra MT975 Radio's and the radio cable to be able to talk bike-bike. Now I've fitted it all today I've come across the problem that the other bike can hear me but cant speak back.

I phoned Autocom and they said yes you need a Logic (£130). The other bike is my partners 125cc that she has just got on the road with and we want to be able to talk to eachother so after spending silly money on the Autocom I'm looking for a cheap intercom so my partner can talk back to me.

My ultimate question is will a cheap intercom work so that my partner will be able to talk back to me? If it will I would appriciate some suggestions as to which ones are best.

Regards,

George

Why do you need a bike to bike intercom?

Looking at the Amazon spec they are very similar to the ones I used during CBT training.

Its a 2 way radio, so all you need is a suitable headset in each helmet with headphones and a mic.

Not sure how your Autocom is pluuged into your Cobra, but if your partner can hear you, then that's working fine, all your partner needs is a headset with a mic to talk to you. The VOX facility on your partners Cobra would need to be enabled and make sure both radio are on the same channel.

VOX is better than a PTT (Press To Talk button), as its handsfree

I might have a headset with headphones & a mic

Okay that sounds like good news, the opening for headphones on top of the cobra is smaller than usual though (2.5mm maybe) the headset/mic you got would that be suitable? I would gratefully take it off your hands if you think that's all I need

Yes, its a smaller jack than the normal 3.5mm headphones

Is it an open faced helmet or full face?

The mic for open face is a stiff boom, the full face is just wires.

I'll have a dig around in my kit and let you know, otherwise there's loads on EBAY

It's a half face (so open?) helmet. The kind of style you get on a cruiser (albeit a 125!). I would appreciate that, but ill get on eBay

Yep,

Just let me see what I've got, although I think mine are full face ones
