Default Goretex type materials, I never knew this...

From Jofama's website...

"The technology behind Dryway®, Dryway+® and the various other types of functional membrane focuses on differences in temperature and moisture on the inside and outside of the membrane. Heat on the inside is released as moisture, but moisture on the outside is prevented from penetrating the fabric. In some situations when it is warmer on the outside, the opposite may happen and moisture will be able to penetrate the membrane. This can happen, for instance, if you use heated grips or have a bike with a heated seat"

So these materials rely on it being warmer on the inside than the outside, otherwise they work in reverse.

I always wondered why my Schoeller Keprotec gloves were as waterproof as any glove I've ever found, until I turned on the heated grips.

Yeah goretex gloves & heated grips is quite an issue. There have been many cases where people have returned gloves saying they are not working, and then been told that they are working, just turn off the heated grips!

Cheers Ralph, never knew that. It also explains why my hands get soaked sometimes and others dry as a bone-never drew the link! Always assumed it ran down the cuff on those occasions.

That's true, that's why having heated grips and gore-tex gloves is a bad idea in the rain.

I'm more concerned about the use of blue text on a black background on the original post
