Default Sony Vaio laptop battery

My mum has a fairly old sony vaio 10 laptop. the computer itself is fine, but the battery in it is now shocking from being about 6/7 years old or so. so can any of the computer buffs out there please recomend something to me from a fairly reputeable website, that will be good. the reason i ask is that she's grumbling a bit over the price of these things and my telling her that get a cheap as chips chinease thing isn't always the best idea is not going down overly well.

thanks in advance for any help.

Whats the model number?

I have had reasonable experiences of cheaper batteries sourced from ebay.

OEM batteries are sometimes good value. We also sometimes have offers on - worth a look if not already done so.

I bought a second hand one for my old advent which i shipped off to my mum. Had no problems with it and lasted around 3 hours fully charged when I got it. 325 quid off ebay was a bargain compared to £110 for a new Gen one.

I work for Dell. Sometimes there are offers on parts and accessories on our website. Chances are Sony do the same.
