Sonic Silver Pointy for sale (full fairing)

Hi all.

For sale is my much loved SV650s (Sonic Silver pointy).

I've had the bike for one year, after having spent nearly 2 months searching for the 'right one', and since buying her I've loved every second of ownership. She is my first 'big bike', and she seems capable of pretty much everything I've needed her to do - from a two-up weekend trip away with the missus, to a spirited ride through country lanes on a sunny day. I live in London, so often have to travel through the city, and the torque that the V-twin engine produces allows you to ride through rush hour traffic with no dramas. A versatile and easy to ride bike.

She comes with full Suzuki dealership service history, with just 2 former keepers and having covered just 13,693 miles. I anticipate this will go up between now and sale as I still use the bike. The overall condition of the bike is excellent, she really is in great shape - I guess a result of spending much of her life in a garage, and my slightly obsessive cleaning / polishing routine. I have both keys, the V5 and a wallet with all other necessary paperwork such as stamped service book etc. She is Data-Tagged and I have the paperwork for you to renew this into your name. The MOT expires at the end of the month, so I will have a new MOT done for the new owner. And there is tax until July. It is also HPI clear, certificate to prove.

The bike was completely standard when I bought her, but since then I have added the following:

• Hamicad tail tidy.
• Grey wheel rim tape.
• Mini indicators all around (bulb type, not LED). I also bought the matching wiring kits, so no messy wiring.
• Slightly smaller rear numberplate, I forget exact measurements.
• Carbon Can Company exhaust (sounds lovely when the throttle is opened up, but not over powering on tick over).
• CNC adjustable 'shorty' brake and clutch levers (black with silver adjusters).
• R&G crash bungs.
• R&G paddock stand bobbins.
• F.Fabbri double bubble screen (smoked). I've tested a couple of different ones on the bike and this definitely offers the best wind protection.
• New grippier grips.
• New bar ends.
• Lower fairings painted and fitted with original Suzuki fitting kit.
• Seat cowl with grab rail blanking plates (painted silver to match).
• New chain and sprockets 500 miles ago.
• New-ish rear tyre (Bridgestone Battlax).

For those that know about the SV650 (which I assume is most on here!), you will know that the SK3 model (year 2003 - which this one is) did not come in a full fairing model, they were either produced as a half faired model, or the naked model. This bike was the half faired model which means that it didn't originally have lower fairings. However I managed to source an original Suzuki fairing fitting kit, and duly purchased some original fairings that I had painted to match the bike.
The rear seat, rear foot pegs and grab rail are included in the sale.


The not perfect bits:

• After cleaning the bike and de-greasing the chain, I put the bike away in the garage for 3 weeks whilst I went away on holiday. When I returned and wheeled the bike out I noticed an orange chain. Like an idiot, I'd forgotten to lube the chain. Very annoying. The white grease that I use on the chain manages to disguise the rust, but it is still there and is a bit annoying given the chain is only 500 odd miles old. Obviously it doesn't hinder the operation of the chain in any way, but aesthetically it isn't ideal.
• There is the smallest ding, size of a 5p in the top of the exhaust. Not sure how it happened if I'm honest... one day it wasn't there, and then one day it was.
• There are a few scratches on the bike that you won't notice unless I point them out to you, or you look REALLY closely for them. There is one on the seat cowl, approximately 5mm. And there is one just above the left head light, again pretty inconspicuous, but would rather tell you about it. And another one that the previous owner had a body shop repair, so it is almost impossible to see. Again, only mentioning for the purpose of honesty rather than concern.
• The right wing mirror glass has cracked - again not sure how this happened, but it was there after returning to the bike after leaving it in a parking bay for a day. Been like it for 5 months now... it was on my 'to-do' list but it's not hindered me so it's stayed put for now.
• Both heal plates on the foot pegs are heavily scratched as my boots have small metal plates that rub on them. These could be replaced if you really wanted to, but in my case if I did replace them I'd end up scratching them again with my boots so didn't bother.
• The front brake discs have a few patches of very slight rust discoloration.
• I have taken photos to show of all of the above to send you if you would like to see.

All in all this really is a fantastic bike, with only a small number of superficial imperfections that are quite trivial and don't in anyway detract from the great overall condition of the bike. If I were to score it, I would give her a 9 out of 10. There has been no expense spared on this bike, and I will be sad to see her go. Reason for sale? - well, I've recently proposed to my girlfriend and our wedding is at the end of summer. As if a wedding wasn't enough to keep her happy, she is already talking about babies... and I'm well aware that my time is running out to buy toys for myself. So, I'm upgrading to a Ducati 749s which should keep me happy for a couple of years whilst the rest of my life and earnings go on a house and babies (and servicing the Ducati).

I have priced the bike at the higher end of the price range for an SV650 of this year and mileage. I do so in confidence of the condition it is in, and the care it receives.

The bike is advertised on eBay, so if you wish to go through this route a deposit of £100 will need to be paid via paypal within 48 hours after auction ends to hold the bike.
