I'm looking for some tips on how to apply my candy grand blue yc2 touch up. I have two bottles of paint, looks like one is a solid colour and one is the slightly blue, sparkly and clear at the same time. I tried doing a test application on a piece of paper before going for the bike and it looked nothing like the bike colour and consistency so I am clearly doing it wrong. Could anyone help me out here? Thanks

Solids the first to apply & the lighter one is the laquer (protective coating'ish) If you look at the factory paint job you'll notice the 'sparkle' so applying that first would be wrong as the thicker colour would just cover it up.

It should be looking a pretty similar colour to stock shouldn't it? Only it seems way off!

Ok so I've just rechecked the two bottles I got in the kit..
One is thick, metallic and quite dark blue. On a test piece of paper it has dried in sparkly and shiny like lacquer. The other is thin, very light blue, almost like water consistency. On a test piece of paper this has dried in flat like a water based paint. Which should I be applying first? Is the thin light blue a base, and the thick sparkly blue the lacquer layer applied last? Ignore my first post because the details of each paint are wrong, was going from memory which appears to be crap. Lol |

If you not sure after the advice here its going to be one of 2 ways tbh, test it either way let it dry and compare against the stock paint job.

I'm far from an expert but I'm pretty sure it will look different applied to paper to what it would look like on metal/plastic.

I was trying to think of somewhere on the sv bodywork. Take off front mudguard and clean & test on the underside.
