Default Rideout tracker Phone App

Skybaba got me thinking after the Southend Shakedown rideout that Supervox kindly organised. He had recorded the route we took on the rideout on his phone so that he could return to some of the interesting bits in his own time.

Does anyone know of an existing application which combines that functionality with the ability to show were the other members of the rideout currently are (obviously only the ones actually using it)? If you miss a marker you could get quite lost, especially on the delightful little backroads we took. Would also help in the situation we had were a cyclist got hit when half of us had already passed.

Any thoughts as to whether this would be useful? Any good other ideas?

sounds good to me, i'd love something like that. surely there are things out there already cos there are ones about for when you go skiing for example. this app called ski tracks is brilliant, measures your speed distance travelled going up (in the lifts), down, average this, average that, and all sorts 'tis brilliant!

Endomondo is quite good , or you could install an Inforad on the bike which is there permanently and hardware based .
