Default slight ticking noise

Hi Guys

Only had my bike a few weeks and its developed a slight ticking noise from what I believe to be the front of the engine.

Nothing major but its there...

Took it to the shop where I bought it as its under warranty. They had a go on it but said its nothing to worry about.

Any ideas or am I worrying about nothing?

Cheers

Ricky

New bike jitters, once you've ridden them a few times and the novelty of a new bike is gone you start listening for things. Then when you hear them you think the bikes about to conk out and die a horrible death... it very rarely is the case, its normally just the new bike jitters.

It's probably OK, but if you'd confirm the make, model, year and mileage, as well as when it happens (warm, cold, high rpm, idle, all of the above) people may be able to give you some other checks to set your mind at rest.

Sv650s curvy x reg. 18k miles good history with dealer receipts. Happens from start up nothing major just tick tick tick like a honda cct noise. May well be cct. ...

On a Honda its the normal noise tho. Are suzuki the same?

To be fair the small business I bought it from seem quite honest and work mainly by word of mouth so I sorta trust them

New bike jitters could be the reason. .. he did say "enjoy the bike mate and don't worry. At the end of the day we want you to come back and buy again. If its out of warranty by a few weeks we would still sort for you to keep your custom"

There are 4 trader's on one industrial estate and I saw a few bikes but bought from them because they gave me a good feeling. ...

what bike is it?

Probably nothing, easy to get paranoid when you here a new noise but often ticking is normal. My triumph (and tomors) both tick away happily.

I was going to suggest it may well be the front CCT, they can be a bit noisy on the earlier SVs.

If it starts to get worse I'd have the front one taken out and checked, but a little bit of ticking from them isn't an issue.

I worry everytime I hear an unusual noise from my bike (which is most of the time ) As said above it is probably just new bike jitters, if you've had it checked then I'm sure it will be fine. SV's do often make a slight ticking noise at idle. Welcome to the world of the Suzuki vtwin
