so it seems that unless you post your items recorded delivery or 'signed for' buyers on ebay can pretend they did not receive the item and eBay will unequivocally support them , leaving you out of pocket.
I have posted two large parcels last week and buyers have claimed not to have received the item. One is going to lodge a complaint , the other has lodged a complaint. Ebay are taking the money back , and i have no way to proove the postage. Do i have a leg to stand on ? |

From what I've seen no, you can try but usually they will take the side of "its got lost in the post" If the buyer has got like 0 feedback or something very low you could try to argue.
Its happened to me once, now I send basically everything recorded, often costs me more than I charge for postage but it covers my own ass, and I've not had a single problem. |

Yeah I did that once. I lost out on a £100 soundcard because i was in a rush and didn't ask for the right post. Expensive lesson learned.

If the item you're sending isn't too expensive you can just get a proof of postage receipt from the post office when you post it, plus, you'll be covered for a small amount but not too sure how much.

Even when you submitted your postage receipt ? (Note, that's different from 'signed for') .

No leg to stand on, unless you contact the sorting office and get in touch with the person who delivered it that day, but I doubt they would remember that parcel out of 1000's

I posted something by 1st class recorded which apparently got lost in the post, we contacted Royal Mai,l filled out all the paperwork and about two months later we got what they call satisfactory compensation, a book of 1st class stamps. Was not happy at all.
