Default End of Sv Turbo 650, helmet saved another life

Well life provided another hurdle my fellow enthusiasts. This one was a bit scarier as I just didn't see her, a lady in a mini van, pulled out in front of traffic trying to get across three lanes of traffic where there is no light. The vehicle next to me must have blocked the view is all I could figure. I've avoided countless collisions by being alert and aware of my surroundings. Maybe I had a down moment in observation. None the less I t-boned her and my face (helmet) went into the windshield. I have facial lacerations from the glass presumably getting in from the vent piece below or under my helmet. I can't even imagine what I would be looking like right now with out my helmet or if at all. I don't remember much of anything, just what I've been told and from damage inspection of both vehicles. I woke up 5 hours later at the hospital. I had the right of way and the cop on scene was very helpfull, so I hear. So were some fellow citizens and awesome paramedics.
I love bikes more than about anything and certainly wont quit, and I will build another turbo SV 650, however will probably turbocharge it and build it more specifically for more power, or not, not sure yet. Have the winter to think all that out.
Bottom line mates, keep that lid on...ride safe my friends of the road and our beloved SV's.

Could be worse - you enjoy building motorcycles right?

Forgive my humour, glad you're still in one piece and able to write about it.

Thanks much guys. Still walking like a 90 year old at the moment but getting better. I haven't had a chance to see the damage up close yet. That won't be till next week but I'm already deciding on finding another within 00 to 2002 to build again. Looks like most of the system is fine but I fear the front tire pushed into the front cylinder and broke up the casting. Looking forward to a new build actually as I learned a lot from this one and know what other thoughts to incorporate. For now just trying to walk normal and let my massive black eye go away.
