Just rebuilt the SV with a DL650 engine (going to change cams later and rotor, just wanted to check engine is fine)
Plugged everything in, Now.. The engine cranks but when i put the petrol tank on and connected the Fuel pump, It makes a constant clicking from the Fuel pump relay, I tried another relay and same thing. Also sent a direct 12v connection to the fuel pump and i can hear it whining. I am also displaying the "Chec" code on my dash, Even though the sidestand AND clutch switch are bridged (Was done when bike was running with original engine) and the neutral light is on. Took a video too - http://s1101.photobucket.com/user/Da...40826.mp4.html Any idea's guys? Cheers |

Also sometimes the FI light flashes, and sometimes it doesn't
By the time i turn the bike off again and put into dealer mode, the code is gone and just displays CHEC |

CHEC is usually the kill switch. so i would start there. do not bridge the clutch switch on a pointy SV as you will be running the wrong map in the ECU.

Not fussed about the map just yet.. needs to run first
![]() So instead of bridging what should i use (Resistor?) I don't have the switch at the moment. Surely the engine wouldn't crank if the kill switch was at fault + The kill switch was fine month's ago ? |

have you checked the 'tip over censor'? its (usually) located under the back end of the petrol tank on the side of the battery housing.
i would buy a new switch for the clutch and the side stand. i have seen far to many people when i was younger crash their bike due to the sidestand being down. |

Checked the tip over sensor, 'Tis upright, and working correctly :/
Just wondering why that poxy relay is just clicking ![]() The Chec doesn't bother me, The engine cranks.. It's just the ticking of relay and no fuel pump prime. |

just had a thought. the bar for the STPS on the throttle bodies might be getting jammed somehow and that's what making the clicking due to it trying to go threw the pre run/prime check. i have never heard a pump make that noise but that's to say it's not.

It's not the pump making that noise, and the throttle bodies dont move..
It's the actual Fuel pump RELAY that's making the noise ![]() |
