Just a warning for anyone using the above tyres.

Awesome.

I'll check the front tyres on the track bikes, as they are the correct size and type for this recall. Glad I didn't know about that at Brands hatch on Tuesday, could have been distracting.

A friend's man on the inside tells me...

"This is a voluntary recall NOT compulsory!

It's the result of an American legal dispute and to cover themselves
Conti have chosen this action.

This only effects 17" fronts and without going into details it is
actually to do with an OEM fitting to a production bike.

No tyre has been identified in the UK or Europe and this pertains to
the American and Canadian Markets primarily.

No tyre in the rest of the world have had any issues."

So no need to panic. From my own experience with Continental tyres, they'd be better off running an amnesty than an exchange program. I've got a part-worn Conti front in the garage which I'd happily give back to them, without asking for a new one in return.
