Default Freedom of photography

I had heard about this a while ago. Apparently the EU are looking to change the law in regards to photos taken of buildings or included in photos from a public place. Things like the Eiffel Tower etc.

Not sure how it affects the average person like us as it seems to be aimed at commercial photographers but they are worried it will affect everyone.

Ah, interesting. As for the potential knock-on to non-commercial people via Facebook etc., it's just not going to happen when there are a grillion camera phones in the world. I can possibly see the relevance in terms of artworks etc. as there is copyright, aside from famous ones where you can just google an image of them anyway, but buildings are inherently public domain unless they're covered in a huge sheet.

Looks like it has been slapped down. Can't understand how it even got that far.
