Default Stu's SV

Hi. I'm Stuart, and this is my SV:

She's my first proper bike.

I did my CBT in November, and then spent a few month on an RV125 (VanVan):

I passed my mod about a month back. Most of my time is spent in city traffic in Birmingham, but occasionally I go on the motorway. I was looking for something that would do 7- effortlessly (the VanVan is great up to 30, but limps after that and only really sees 50).

I did my DAS on a Gladius, and wanted a V-Strom. However, the lack of NCB, made the insurance quite expensive. The 400/500cc bikes were cheaper than the 250s, so I ended up looking at the ER500 & CB500. On a whim, I got a quote for a 99 SV, and found that it wasn't much higher then the CB500.

I'm a sucker for the sound of a V-engine, and found a 99-plate naked SV650 locally. When I turned up, I found that the seller was a friend of a friend. Everything checked out, and I bought her the following day.

Here she is after my first proper ride out:

Hey Stuart, nice to see another Midlander! I did my DAS on a Gladius too, was that at SteetBike by any chance? Enjoy the SV!

I did my apprenticeship on a van van and still have a soft spot for them, although it can be a little scary when driving down the A27 with a pillion into the wind trying to get past traffic. Enjoy the SV, hubby has one, dad has a Gladius and I ride a v-strom (best of the lot) welcome to the madhouse. The SV is the better bike to start on the v-strom is quite tall to start on but a great next bike if you have long enough legs, hubby only has 31" inside leg as opposed to my 36" he dislikes the v-strom as he finds it too tall.
