Default RIP OFF TRACKDAY COMPANIES...WARNING!!!

I have just got off the phone with Kevin Healy the owner of Focused events track day company. It would seem that the main web company that promotes the uk trackdays for every event organiser is loading an extra £10 to each day available. As you can imagine Kevin is very pi$$ed off with this and will not honor any bookings done through this company.

He has asked me to warn as many people as I can and to ensure that you guys don't use www.uktrackdays.co.uk instead book direct with the organiser direct in this case www.focusedevents.com or a completely different company www.biketrackdays.co.uk

Just to console you from your "difficulties" I will describe some of the misery that exists concerning motorports in this "European" country I'm living in.

For a start: There is only one worth-the-bother racetrack and it is about 700Kms from the Capital. Hopefully I'm only 90Km's from it. Compared to European standards it is only a "B" or even "C" class racetrack.

There are no "track days" as such. If you want to get in, wear full leathers, pay 45 Euros and the track is yours for half a day. That is, with every other car/bike/tractor/lorry/ship/spaceship that might have an interest in the track the same day and time with you. There are some track lessons organized by a magazine in cooperation with California Superbike School but it is 500E to complete one of the 3 available levels, and these are just twice a year.

Oh an needless to say, when a national race comes around in the calendar, imagine how many spectators show up: Rarely more than 800.... (Dragster on the other side never falls below 2000 spectators). I watch MotoGP in Eurosport and seeing the magnitude and importance of the event I envy so much the motorsport culture there is in the rest of Europe

Given this situation, I opt to go on my favourite route (about 140Km) which at its end offers about 13Km 60-80Mph turns with ace tarmac and almost no traffic.

Thanks for listening (well, reading) my whining, maybe I should just go live somewhere else... (Spain perhaps..... Sunny, good roads, many racetracks, easy police, beautiful gals... I better get off learn some spanish I think...)

Interesting to hear you refer to uktrackdays.co.uk as "the main web company that promotes the uk trackdays". Not sure I'd agree but then I'm biased as I own and run biketrackdays.co.uk

If you haven't come across biketrackdays.co.uk before it is not only the largest independent bike track day listing service in the country it is also the oldest. We started back at the tail end of 1997 and are still going strong.

More importantly we are interested in providing a service for enthusiasts run by enthusiasts and aren't trying to make any extra money out of people when they can book up more cheaply elsewhere!

mike didnt wish to offend anyone just trying to make it known what this one company was doing. if i made a mistake in 'naming' them sorry, perhaps what i should have said should read

'It would seem that one of the main web companies'

to put to be honest i am not that aware of all the trackday publisher/promoters as i only ever use Kevin for trackdays and dont ever shop around. i am in effect just relaying a message and am sorry for geting the largest independent bike track day listing service in the country mixed up with a bunch of cowboys ie 'naming'

but as a plus point im advertising your company

Don't worry about it. I wasn't having a go merely pointing out that uktrackdays.co.uk had acquired a certain reputation and profile mainly due to the fact that they used to be owned by the same guy that also owned one of the larger track day organisers!
