I've got a Scorpion Carbon Fibre Race can on my SV and I had to cut off the pipe. The race can also comes with a smaller link pipe so that you can fit the orginal can for those MOT moments. Bear in mind that if you get a road legal can you don't need to fit the original back, even for MOTs.

As a rule of thumb you always have to cut the original exhaust to fit a new can on the SV, unless it is a full system.

Or get a 3/4 system that will bolt straight onto the downpipes

Hi, I fitted a Viper can to my SV, had to cut the pipe as usual. But the adaptor pipe for the can is no good to fit the original can back on as the dia reduces. You need a 55mm pipe ( I think) to fit the original can back on for the MOT test. I can't locate anyone that does pipe this size and my MOT is looming in a few months.

I fitted a scorpion road legal can with removable baffle earlier in the summer. It is fairly straight forward but a hacksaw will keep you sawing for an age. I used an angle grinder and moved the footpeg out of the way to get in without damaging the frame.

The scorpion can comes with the instructions and parts so it is no worries.

Remember to look at the bike from the rear when you have fitted it to make sure it looks straight etc. as you have a little play in it before fully tightening things up. This is purely cosmetic of-course but if you go for the oval can it does make a difference.

If you want a really big grin you could start the engine when you've cut the stock can off and before you fit the race can. You'll giggle like a school boy but only do it for a very short period as not sure whether it causes any damage to bike, but am sure it will annoy your neighbours.

Can you travel my way (or me to you (I'm easy)) with the hacksaw and shotgun?! Worth a try!
