Gave my K3 SVS a thorough clean the other day (and I mean thorough, spent about 4 hours on the bloody thing...obviously with breaks for coffee
![]() ![]() Places I noticed it thinning: Front fender, looks like the brake hose as rubbed on the lip and worn the pain off. Grab Rail, I hardly EVER carry a pillion or luggage (probably about 6 times since i bought it), and yet i notice that I can see white undercoat showing through all around the edges at the rear of the rail. It's pretty bad ![]() Have I just been unlucky? Or are they all this poorly finished? Should I go back to the dealer and whinge as it's obviously still under warranty ![]() |

My grab rail went the same way on the edges. I put it down to one trip with luggage despite wonderweb stuff going over it. Maybe its the candy colours? The lacquer has gone on the sides of the tank a bit as well. But its a cheap bike, so cheap things will happen., I guess. Annoying though.
Mind you for a cheap bike I think its pretty good in general. You could pay £10k for a BMW1200GS and have a fantastic paintjob but everything fall to bits ![]() |

Suzuki are not exactly renowned for their quality finishes.

checked over my bike since reading this post.
My tank is immaculate - 6500kms. - Black I wear denims, Draggin Jeans and over trou. There is absolutely no wear on the tank and even where my Cordura jacket contacts front of the tank - no wear or marks show. Grab rail and around pillion area shows wear consistent with luggage and straps (on the plastic) |

My K3 is spotless except where I've put scratches, dinks and scrapes in through my own stupidity!
Still under warranty??... take it back as that seems very poor! |

Speaking as a Suzuki dealer we would take the bike in and then take photos of the problem areas and then contact the warranty dept. They will then take it from there.
They have covered things like this but doubt very much they would replace the front fender where the brake lines have been rubbing if they are braided lines. If they are standard then they will assess. Take it to your dealer and ask nicely (no point in windging at them as they have to ask the warranty dept nicely to sort it out).. |
