Default Having trouble turning key from lock to on

Has anybody had trouble turning key from lock to on. I have a K4. The key will turn from off to on with no problems. When i put it to the lock position it is very hard to turn. Before anyone asks if I am pushing in the key, I am. The bike is about 6 months old and I have just started to have the problem. It takes about 2 minutes of messing about with it to get it turned.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Try ensuring the bars are fully turned before turning the key (if the steering lock is on)

Cloggsy: I assume this is covered under warranty
svpilot: It is not that. I tried it already. I think it is the barrel, sometimes it works, sometimes it dosen't

My K3 developed the same problem. I think there was some muck in the barrel or something. I tried squirting WD40 in it which seemed to make it a bit better. The problem went away after I got the bike serviced but I don't know if they fixed it or whether it was the WD40.

I generally give the keylocks a squirt of WD40 from time to time. They do get a little sticky, but a quick squirt seems to sort it out for me.

I have a K4, ensure that your bars are straight before trying to turn the key.
