Default Throttle Problem

Ok, I have a problem with the throttle grip. The throttle grip, and the switch gear on the right handle bar is moving when I move the throttle. So as the ride goes on, I have to grab the switch gear and turn in towards myself again because the act of shutting the throttle quickly moves it.

I tried tightening the screws on it but its still moving. Am I missing something here? How do I tighten the whole thing so it doesn't move?

sounds to me like the mounting pins that "stick into" the handlebars have snapped. They are only plastic in any case.

You could either take off the switch gear, drill al hole where the mounting pin has snapped, screw in a screw and cut the head off for new metal mounting pins. (as sucessfully carried out by Rictus on my bike ).

Or just take off switch gear and put gaffa tape on the handlebar and put switch gear back on. (as done previously by myself when putting renthals on ) I found this worked ideally and it didn't move around at all

Oh ok, I thought that it attaches purely by friction. Oh, I have to do this fix before I ride it again. Might try the tape one first.

Mine is the same, but doesn't turn unless I want it to... Wee dot of superglue would probably do the job as well.

Is it a sign that the bike fell on that side?

Possibly... I broke mine fitting the heated grips though.

I know some people who could break an anvil without trying
And they are car mechanics........

My throttle locating pin broke too (cheap plastic) but a good bit of gaffa tape around the bar, and re-tightning the switch gear worked a treat.

I tried the tape thing and put a screw in as well. We'll see how long this holds. If not then I might have to replace it. I hope Suzuki parts aren't too expensive . . .

Good news about the bars though.
