Anyone used a quick-action throttle on their SV?

Hi all, just after some advice here.

I've seen the quick action throttle advertised by www.hairy-rs.com and also some listed on ebay (though none at the moment), and am thinking of fitting one to my '01 SV650S.

From what I understand these things reduce the amount of throttle turn required to go from 'off' to full throttle - which should in turn make it easier to get all the power on without needing a bendy wrist.

Has anyone here ever fitted one and if so, is this a mod you would recommend?

I have not but getting one soon but don't buy that. Get/buy the throttle tube off an R6. I believe the 99-04(Part no. 5SL-26240-00) is a straight bolt.

Should be cheaper than the 'shimming thing' from hairy-rs.com which apparently needs a bit of modification to your original throttle tube to fit anyway.

Oh, the throttle tube normally come with the grips so what ever price you get quoted by your friendly local yamaha dealer is for both the tube and grip.

I'll probably give that a crack at some point too, though I'm not sure if it's really something that'll benefit me much... But it's cheap and makes people think you're some sort of l88t bike haxxor...
