Default Getting mods done to my bike

Hello all,

I'm new to the board. I bought my first bike this past June. I purchased the 2004 SV650s. Unfortunately someone hit me on it in August. It wasn't my fault and his insurance is paying for repairs.

After talking to the guys at the bike shop they said for the price of the factory parts I could get a slip on and power commander instead of replacing the factory exhaust.

So I got a Yoshi Slip on, air filter, and power commander. As a newbie I have no clue what to expect when I get on my bike after they get through with it. What advice can you give me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site... I'd have to agree with Mark on the 'Big Grin' factor... You will have an increased BHP at the back wheel & a big hike in torque too - It should make low speed riding a doddle & it will add a few MPH top end, but not much (you'd have to change the gearing for top end really. i.e. sprockets) - Don't forget to tell your insurance, expect a hike in your premium to match

Don't forget to show us pictures of the finished article

Default tell my insurance

Tell my insurance

Hmmm probably won't be doing that. I might as well tell them I'm popping wheelies and do twice the speed limit when I ride. That's another thing I'm worried about. I learned how to do wheelies about 3 weeks ago. I can't ride them but I can pop them in first gear. I have really good control (as far as not flipping over and landing properly).

will the power commander add so much power to make popping a wheelie uncontrolable. Or will it just be a small boost that I will notice but it won't be outrageous?

If you want to see pics of the bike click on the link below. Please note I usually send women this link that's why I have pics flexing. Please I'm not trying to attract any fellas (I don't roll lik that)
