Default Arrgghh! Front Brakes HEEEELLLP

Well, I've got the seals and some new pads, but the pin with the R clip through it it abso-bloody-lutely seized solid. Knackered at the first hurdle.... Any ideas how to shift them??? I'm stumped!

Arrrrgh! It looks like a really easy job to change the seals, but I can't even get the chuffin pads out!!!! Arrrrgggggghhhhh again!!!!!!

Failing that, has anyone got any calipers I can have. Don't need pads and pins. NOT SILLY MONEY!

Hmmm, my last service got expensive when the mechanic had to spend hours getting the pins out.
A bit of research after this revealed that calipers can be had from breakers for £10-£15 !!
Probably your best bet.

What are you using to free the pins ?
WD-40 is not good at releasing corroded compnents - I used a specialist spray called 'Yield' which got my pins out, with some help from mole-grips.

Surely can't you crack open the calipers and then work the pins out. Or have you done that already? I've had it done on the back but it hasn't been tried on the front yet.

Hope I am not being blond here, but it looks like a 1 piece caliper. It doesn't appear to be two halves bolted together.

I really should have looked at my calipers earlier. Pins totally stuck solid. Did the penetrating oil and mole grips thing, gave it a twist and "piiing". Bloody pin snapped. ****, ****, ****! Caliper now fantastically fecked. I've decided I am not going to "F" around with them any more. Got two nearly news on order from breakers for £50. Unfortunately, won't get them til Wednesday, so I will be riding to work on my push bike all week. Can't fit them till the chuffin weekend. Apart from that, I am having a good weekend.

****!

Oh and to top in all off, Pompey lost to Southampton! Thanks Keithd for the text! I needed that!
