Default OMG, the SV is a wheelie monster

I officially scared myself senseless. I made a turn into a steet (100kph speed limit) and didn't realise that I had shifted all the way into 1st gear. So I make my turn and crack the throttle open, and the unexpected happened. The front end started going up and up. And I started heading for the bush because I couldn't turn the bike. I have never ever wheelied before. Instinctively gave it some rear brake and got it all sorted out.

It was a sureal experince though, i can see why people do it deliberately. I thought wheelies were hard to do, but the SV just poped it up there.

Well, don't know for sure, but I could no longer see any road? Just the sky and the feeling that I was heading off the road. The landing wasn't bad, which is good becvause I heard that it can be bad for the steering head bearing?

Only if you do it a lot and head bearings aren't expensive anyway.

Nope, I was all alone. It would have been embarrassing anyway, it would have looked very unintentional.

So 1st gear wheelies are quite normal on the SV then?

They are for BigApe, his front wheel seems to be made of a lighter alloy than other SVs.

I think the balancing lead weights must have fallen off and I keep forgetting to compensate for the loss of weight on the front, that's all
