Leo Vince end can - SV650.org

After a couple of meets, had a few comments about my dodgy end can (SV is brand new 04 with no mods). My mechanic friend reckons I need to leave the original can on for say the first 1000 miles before changing it and to upgrade to something like a Leo Vince - which don't mean too much to me. Checked out the site tho' and seems in order.

Does anyone have any comments about when end can should be changed on brand new bike and whether Leo Vince is any good.

I've heard the about the 1000 mile rule too. Don't know if it fact or hearsay though!

Leo Vince make nice exhausts! See the exhaust forum for other options though

It doesn't really matter when you change the pipe mileage wise, when you've got the money is the right time, (assuming you want to of course).

Leo Vinci pipes seem well made to me, bear in mind that all aftermarket illegal cans are basically the same design, despite what some makers will tell you, and will make a similar difference in performance, which, on it's own, is not much difference overall, but that's not why it gets done most times as we know, it's about the noise, which does differ between pipes and changes as the wadding degrades over time/use, some pipes claim to have a wadding that doesn't require repacking, I have found this not to be the case.

My feeling is not to spend too much money on a can, unless you like expensive labels of course, just find one that suits your pocket, suits your bike, fits well, (some famously don't, and not 'cos they were the cheaper end of the market), and is well made, with that in mind I like ART cans, I've never had any fitting or quality problems with them, and they don't cost a fortune.

As I was saying to you on Wednesday night, i changed my godawful standard can for a Scorpion Titanium Oval jobbie after only about 150 miles.
I did not experience any running prblems at all - quite the opposite in fact - in nearly 10,000 miles before my bike was destroyed!
What it did do was make the bike sound much much better, make cars notice me significantly more in town and made it much more rideable, cutting out the snatchyness of the throttle (most noticeable at roundabouts). My engine was strong and responded well to further performance tweaks.
I would not hesitate to change the can on any bike I own in the future, after similar mileage.
I think I eould probably ride the bike for a while first, even if it's just to see what it felt like & to decide if there was any improvement or change in rideability/performance/fuel economy, etc.

just put on new scrorpion can today from infinity in clapham.. they are also leo vinci stockists so go check it out there if you wish.. scorpion has easily removable baffle so can carry it around in your bag in case get stopped (highly unlikely)..Took about 10 days to order though (round stainless) £195.00 inclusive of fitting. They did a good job, only took 30min, james or dean are the guys to speak to, but theyre not incredibly enthusiastic!

The mechanic was far friendlier..

Leo Vince End cans are perfect, the look great they are v-well made, and sound sweet, its just a shame I landed my bike on top of mine...

I'm in the process of getting a new one (maybe even a full system from them)
