Default Someone knocked my bike over! - UPDATE - THEY OWNED UP!

Just got the Oxford grips working, the chain cleaned and lubed and two new tyres put on and some ************ knocks my bike over in the carpark at work.

It was parked in a marked space in a reasonably lit area whilst I attended parents' evening and some absolute ***** pulled in, knocked it over and drove off.

There is no way they could not have known. For one they were not parked in the space afterwards. Secondly you'd find it hard to knock over an sv and not hear/feel it. Lastly the alarm would have been going crazy.

I'm hoping that someone will feel bad and ring the school tomorrow to own up.

Damage at first inspection: broken gear lever, broken clutch lever, smashed indicator, bent bar end (hopefully not handlebar!).

Not easy continuing your interview with parents and kid when you've just been told your bike has been run over in the car park!!!!

Man, I'm p*ssed.

Oh, and I drove one of our minibuses home and the bike's parked in the entrance of the Mathematics/English block of the school. That'll cause some comments tomorrow...!

With the way gossip works in schools, I'll know by lesson 2 who did it, particularly if it was a parent... then what?

Bloody hell, what a pi$$er, sorry to hear that mate. Yeah, the kid's grapevine should produce the culprit. Is there no CCTV?

Makes me glad that my neighbour owned up to it! (still got the VFR btw )

I'd take a walk around the car park every now and then to check for dents and paint....

I got mine Pushed over in london a couple of months back - was in a designated bike bay, between other bikes and mopeds - no way a car could have done it by accident - the only way it could have gone over was by someone pushing it.

It did land on a moped however, which cushioned its fall!

Patches, this is really terrible...

I think you're lucky more wasn't broken or dented. I hope you find out who it was - do contact the police, the penalty for leaving the scene of an accident is quite severe

Keep an eye out for parent's cars too, an SV falling on one will have surely done some visible damage!

I was under the impression this was only if someone was injured?

Nope. You're obliged to stop and exchange insurance info. If there is an accident and someone is injured then the police must be called anyway, otherwise you don't need to. I think.
