Default 120/70 front

Can 120/70 be fitted on the front of a 02'?

yeah it can, Have one on mine as I got a good deal on the tyre's doesn't affect anything i've noticed, altho I don't ride particularly hard...

unless you have a particular reason tho stick with 120/60, there is no benefit in a 120/70

I was thinking about doing this as I've heard that it will give a more gentle roll in to corners rather than the abrupt on/off feeling I currently get with my 020's. I've also heard that it might technically invalidate your insurance as it's not a recommended OE fitting.

Any more feedback?

only reason is that a freind of mine has a RF400 that does not work any more and i can buy the whole bike of him for £50, aparently the front and back tyres are 010/020. The rear works fine on mine it is just the front that is a bit bigger.

The only problem i might have is that the bike because it is not working it has been standing still for a while and possably may have flat spots if he did not keep the tyres inflated properly, they might be ok because he has a center stand on the bike.

We will see.

I was told by the place that fitted it that it wouldn't go into the corners quite so well but with my cornering I can't say i'd noticed

The 70 profile rubber has a slighly larger rolling diameter so it tips in slower.

You're right with it invalidating your insurange as well. It doesn't match wthat is on the tyre placard so you are screwed.
