Oxford hot grips not hot !!! - SV650.org

I fitted Oxford hotgrips with Tim's help just over 2 months ago. Now they have stopped working although the light still comes on when I turn on the control box so power is still getting to them. Anyone else had a problem with them?

Chutz,

I started a thread about a month ago on the Hot grips. If you serach for it.
I think one of the lads of here, had a problem with em doing the same thng. I think it was down to the diferent type of grips that oxford sell. They sell ones for the alloy bars and one for the steel ones (Don' quote me on that).

if they were working before but arnt now then id say u need to send them back for exchange.

These grips were definitely the correct (newer) type, designed for use with alloy bars. They were originally very effective and have clearly stopped working for some reason!

I suspect it may be the control box (well - more like I hope it's not the actual grips as they were a real pig to fit & I get the feeling it'll be just as hard, if not more so, to get them off!!

If you wamma shoot over at some point, I can stick my multimeter on them & see what we get - I can possibly check the readings from mine too but as you know, I can't remove (or change anything) on my bike until the insurance claim is settled!
