How hard is it to obtain and replace the footrest and brake pedal on the sv?

Fitting is easy, getting a replacement depends on how close you're nearest dealer is!

Easy peezy!

Aftermarket pegs are everywhere.

Check Ebay for spares regular too, ive just had a quick look and couldnt see any.

Else you can go to your local dealer and see how much they are.

Kool, yeah I can find a peg from my dealer, I'm just worried about installing it, would prefer to do it myself though, are there guides around online? I've looked around but cant find any?!?!? Any help?

Peg is just held on with an allen key bolt IIRC. Undo the footrest assembly and you will see an allen key bolt behind the peg. Really simple to change.

Ah good stuff, thanks guys, I actually need to change the rear brake pedal too, does this make the whole thing harder or is it still quite an easy task?

Still easy. The lever comes off the footplate when you remove the peg, it's just a matter of removing a couple of springs and a pin that connects the lever to the master cylinder.

Listen, if I can do it then even a blind monkey could. You'll be fine .

I would give the bolts a squirt of WD-40 while you're thinking about it, mine were nicely siezed up.
