Default Damaged bike

Some bloody idiot knocked me off my SV in Tesco carpark the other night. He pulled right out failed to give way and knocked my off. Was doing 15mph at the time, the bike is scratched down the right hand side, most damage seems to be the end can and the front fairing. To make matters worse he refused to give me his details claiming 'its not my fault, I didnt see you!'.

The phrase driving without due care and attention sprang to mind, had to call the cops in the end to get his details. I know the bike is repairable but now I gotta put up with the inconvenience of not having it. Cant even secure a courtesy bike in the mean time because he hasnt accepted responsibility. Im so ****ed off, its only 3 months old too....

Unlucky mate!

Seeing as he didn't see you that makes it alright then I guess. What a tit!

Did you get his registration details? Surely, it can be pursued that way? Have you reported the incident to the police?

Waiting for the police to contact me with a T2 form??? he said I would have to fill it out and all the details would be held by them. Im stuck till I can get the incident number though, the garage reckon about £1000 for the repairs to the bike. My jeans and helmet are scratched up too so I will be claiming for those.
His insurance company will take a dent for this one, the helmet was £450 new and the jeans were £120. If only he had an expensive car that I could have damaged too, shame it was an E reg nissan.

If you search on here for Bott and Co and get their number they'll help. They're no win no fee and as police were involved etc... it should be clear cut. They got me the costs of my clothing, coutesy bike and a small amount in personal injury.

This surely proves that fact is stranger than fiction. How some people's brains work is quite beyoond me. Hope you get yourself sorted soon and don't let this put you off.

I've always considered car parks to be one of the most dangerous places to walk/ride/drive.

I bet he was eating an aple too, oops, wrong thread!

That is terrible though, the guys attitude is awful but sadly not unexpected. Hope you get a courtesy bike sorted out and do try and get your bike back on the road. Mysteryjimbo's idea of a solicitor isn't a bad one as car parks are always a 'grey' area when it comes to insurance companies.
