racing in ireland does not rule out the use of ram air.
has anyone any information about ram air on sv650s curvy. the pointy model info may also help. what are the implications to my current settings? Which are. Bmc air filter dynojet jet kit higher speed plugs. i also will not test this on a dyno as real ram air is impossible to replicate. Fueling kings please respond ![]() Cheers! |

Good luck with that - The ram air on my ZX-7R allegedly doesn't start having any effect until it passes 130mph on its way to 168, so you'll have a hard time getting any actual performance benefit from it on an SV.

It's been done, but I'm a skeptic
![]() But how do you jet a carbed bike for a speed sensitive boost? You could jet it rich up top but then it'll be baggy at low speeds and high revs. Most folks reckon ram air only really takes off once you get towards double figures, and that's even with megabudget r&d. And pressurising the airbox could actually impair the carb action, since they vent into the box rather than having seperate vents... But, at the end of the day I only know the questions, I don't know the answers ![]()

BSD have made a carbon ram air box for the carbed SV...speak with them thats your best bet.

Some argue that that power gain is largely from the clean cool(er) air from the front of the bike, not the ‘ram’ effect … therefore simple ducting from the front to under the tank to supply 'fresh' air is going to give you a gain ... |
