Default New exhaust?

Thinking about getting a can for my bike at the show this weekend, and I'm looking for any recomendations or don't-touch-them-with-a-barge-pole stories. Don't have a fortune to spend, £150 ish would be ideal. Oh, and do you have to re-map the bike to match the can, or is it fine as standard? Finally, is worth buying a wee K&N filter while I'm at it?

Cheers!

Blue flame although very pretty seem to have a bad reputation for customer service, so you might want to avoid them.

Re-map isnt essential, but if you get a race can and K&N then a re-map will make the most of the increased air/exhaust flow.

Nice!

Heard some good things about CCC cans... Any opinions out there?

I got a CCC road legal a few months ago and it's great. Arrived about 2 days after I ordered it and had all the right bits and instructions (although it's hardly rocket science!) Sounds lovely, not as rood as a race can, but they do those as well. Should be within your budget with a show discount as well.

CCC's "traditional" ie multi-chambered road legal can is great, the best of tis type by a long way IMHO... (I got mine at the show last year!)

But I think you'd be better ggetting a road-legal with removable baffle type now to be honest... They're lighter, usually cheaper, and have the potential for more racketmaking. The only downer is that most need repacking from time to time, but even that's not a big deal.

CCC's road legal race cans are loud but a bit soulless... I'd probably look at a Scorpion. But to be honest, it's all personal taste- you could do worse than simply picking one that looks nice.

I got a blue flame at the Ally Palais show, twin oval titanium for £210. Took two weeks for it be made and delivered. I fixed it on first saturday and then had to go away for a week for work, so haven't been able to go for a blast yet, but will hopefully this weekend (if i remember to re-attach the foot peg).
When I spoke to the salesman for Blue flame, he said that he was aware that they get bad press from this site - whether it's worthy or not i'll find out over the next few months. (or hopefully not)
Anyway, I digress.
The Carbon Can comp were offering me a single oval titanium for £170. However, one thing to note, is that for you to remove the baffle first time I believe that you have to drill out the rivet, and replace with a self tapping screw. Now I don't know if that is true, or if this causes later issues with looseness, but perhaps someone who has one can confirm and give you their feedback as to whether or not it is something to be wary of.
Anyway, whatever you decide to get, have fun. Oh, and when you cut off the existing can, make sure you start her up before re-attaching. Sweet sound and pi$$es the neighbours off !

For that sort of money you should be able to pick up a Scorpion. A few of the Ecosse Posse have oval Scorpions (myself included) and they make a satisfying growl!
