I may be wrong about this, but I belong to three SV message boards (two concentrating on the SV-650) and I don't feel that the Power Commander is a popular modification with the members.
Do you feel the same? Any idea why? On other boards for other bikes, the Power Commander is basically a required item if you want to do any kind of gimme-more-power modifications. I know, by the way, that Curveys use carbs. |

I tink its because the fuel injection isnt so sophisticated on the SV, so popping in a power commander dosnt really do much i guess. Might cure a few flat spots at low RPM and improve throttle response, but not by much

And the stock SV can be remapped for a massively lesser price

Its a case of money versus gain. On a sports 600 or a litre bike you get a big gain from a PC. On the SV it's not so apparent so most don't bother.

I fitted mine to work in conjunction with other mods, and I do agree that even with said mods the outright power increase (max. bhp) is negligable - but, the overall drivability, and smoothness, are far improved over stock.

the PCIII is not popular for the SV cause with the basic mods you do on the bike do not require remapping for the bike to run.
so air filter and raised tank plus end can won't make the bike fuelling go too lean or too rich. On the other hand for my '06 fazer thou I MUST get a PCIII if I want to even put an airfilter on it |
