Hi Ya'll
I'm touring Northern France soon with a group and cant wait to get into some sunshine on my 2001 SV650S. Has anyone ever fitted or considered fitting any navigation equipment either a simple direction finding compass or something electrical (GPS ect etc) and a bit more techy - any advice / products - gratefully received...cheers ![]() |

Flaming Squirrel has a GPS system on his SVSK4, PM him and ask him what system it is he has.

Have a search on some touring type websites, Pan European or BMW etc.
From what I've heard Garmin seem to be a front runner http://www.garmin.com/mobile/products.html various Street Pilot models (I think III is popular). Just glanced at the site and the Quest looks interesting. |

I'm going to be using a PDA with a gps card if the card ever arrives from ebay!!
Got the TOMTOM software to do all the mapping and loads of points of interest (gatsos, macdonalds etc) Quite a cheap way of doing it too. 38 quid for the GPS card and a free pda from work ![]() TOMTOM was downloaded on the sly ![]() |

The tom tom stuff works really well.
My only concern would be a small PDA/Rain interface. Or are you one of those fair weather (read pansy) riders lol ![]() I would put it on mine, but don't have the money. Besides, getting lost has found me some of the best roads I know! Dan. |
