ok... following discussion in the thread on the SV only track day Im posting a poll to see what should be done re members with other bikes...
personally its my opinion its not the bikes but the bikers your with that matter so I think it should be an sv org members track day regardless of bike. Certainly I want to track the cbr before the sv so Ive a vested interest on whether the opionion is to make it sv only or members with other bikes included... so here goes... other options on the poll welcomed... |

I'm with you on this Lyn.
The reason the SV idea appeals to me is that i can see where/how others push their bikes more/less than i can or do. Helps if i see everyone else go thru a particular section at a particular speed more that if i was the only one on an SV and loads of R1's did it. I'd think "well their bikes just can... and mine just cant etc" But i dont see any reason not to have a smattering of other bikes there too. Bit of healthy competition never hurt no one ![]()

SV.org members only would be fine by me.
I've never done a trackday so I'd be interested. |

Last time this question was raised on Kev Wheatly's track day I think it was SV's, ex-SVers and only people well known to SV-ers. So that ruled out so-and-so's brother' mate's cousin 'he'll be alright on his R1'...actually no he turned out to be an idiot type of thing and most improtantly as said above gave SV'ers an opportunity to see what the bike could do etc without too muchg else getting in the way. So if I rememeber on that occassion Ben Hallows came on an R6 and Itchin' on his Bros (which I fondly remember to be one of the highlights).
I havent followed the thread but it depends on what you want to do. If its you and your mates, whatever. But if you want to encourage track-day SV novices (which you probably should if its organised via this forum) then its better to be exclusive-ish so its a showcase for SVs mainl and have to have some sort of guarantor of reasonable behaviour system/ knowldege of riding skills for others. Anyhow, thats what they did before, FWIW. |

I'd rather meet people from here, regardless of bike.
I'd actually be more concerned about the level of skill of the other riders. Being a Track Virgin I don't want to slow others down or get in the way... likewise I want to learn alongside others of a similar level to better judge my own performance. So if needs be, maybe a couple of days could be organised, but along the lines of skill level rather than actual bike model. |

I personally think it should be open to SV650.org members.
Its nice when everyone is on the same bike, but, the SV has been around for a while & no doubt many of the members (or X members) who still post / or visit this forum from time to time would like to join in in the fun. As I've recently moved to a bigger bike I'd still enjoy meeting up with people & doing track time. The SV is a cracking bike & can put bigger bikes to shame (trust me). From a newbie perspective I would say its the responsibility of more experienced riders to give input & help to anyone who asks for it. That's what I've always found at track days & have been grateful for..... Looks if I go I'll be in trouble as I wobble around........... ![]() Just my 50 pence worth.... D. ![]() |

Personally I don't mind who comes as it's non-competitive and just fun. What I would like though is to borrow someone's elses bike and not use mine if that's okay with someone, cheers

Your more than welcome to use mine Greg, so long as you don't mind helping me repair it if you come off
