Default A whole new meaning to doing a burn up...

Anyone seen the April edition of Ride yet?

SV650 is rated in both top ten new and second hand bikes, can't be bad.

however, get this...

In the staff tested Used and Abused section (p.70) is a gadget that allows you to shoot flames from your exhaust at the touch of a button. This is a DIY gizmo that temporarily cuts out the ignition allowing petrol into the exhaust where with the aid of an additional spark plug, it is ignited and you get quite a nice flame thrower effect.

They do point out that while legal to fit, it is illegal to use on the road... hmmm

Yep, i've seen something similar on a car although i'm not sure how it works. The bloke pressed his button or whatever, nice big flame came out the back of the exhaust and promptly set fire to his car. Silly chavs.

You can do something similar by flicking the ignition switch, although it's not good for your exhaust, and has been known to split the poorer made exhausts (I mention no brands ).

During the 2004 Euro Tour we were doing this through the tunnels... Who was it who forgot to pull in the clutch and nearly went into my rear? Again, I wont mention any names

It can also damage your valves.

As above. A friend used to do this in his car. Just roll along at 30 in 4th, cut the engine and fire it back up a few seconds later. The exhaust being full of unignited mix makes a nice loud pop, and if you left it long enough, flames.

It only made me laugh the once... when he split his exhaust.

And if you've got a Cat, then the unburned fuel ruins it rather quickly.

The carbed SV pops and flames vey prettilly, but it plays hell with the packing in your race can...
