just fitted my racetech emulators and fork springs last night.
all i can say is wow.

should have done it years ago.

seems to ride softer over bumps but dives less and gives much more feedback. no nasty sv fork knock either. can only assume it was hydraulic locking on compression damping. gives my wrists an easier time too. got my bits from pdq. very helpfull as were the racetech instructions

What sort of replacement springs did you use? I thought the emulators worked fairly well even when used with stock springs?

How much work was involved in installing them, was complete removal of the forks required or just the caps?

you have to remove the forks and drill 2 extra holes in the damper rod. also use 20wt oil

sorry used racetech springs. come with preload tube etc. i used 0.9kg/mm but i do weigh 18st!!!

Emulators are about £106, fitting is easy though I did find the damper rod bolt can be very stiff, had to take my mate's forsk to a shop to get the bolts slackened. As for oil weight, Racetech do recommend heavier oil (15W) but I think this should be kept as usual i.e. only use heavier oil if you weigh more (like PJ).

I fitted the emulators a year before stiffer springs. Like PJ says, much better control, but for the complete package you definitely want the springs too.

PS the emulators are adjustable so you can alter compression damping instead of just whacking gooier oil in.
