Default Off to sunnier climes...

I'm off to France and Spain next week and I'd like to solicit some advice from you chaps in the know.

1. Loud Cans. In France & Spain, what constitutes a loud can and what's the policy of the local constabularies with regard to such?
2. Headlights - Any adjustments needed?
3. I saw the link to the pocket book for France that someone posted here. Anything like this for spain?
4. Anything 'wierd' over there? (I realise this question may raise a few eyebrows/sniggers but you all know what I mean). Is there anything I should be on the lookout for that I wouldn't know about from riding in the UK?

I've already been and had a good look at the Drive-Alive pages which seem to be full of useful info but Im looking for the 'anything else' factor here.

Merci amigos

Ride on the right and go round roundabouts anti clockwise!

These safety tips have been brought to you by the number neuf and the letters W P.

We've never had any problems in France with cans. Not ridden in Spain, but when I was in Barcelona 2 years ago the Harley "Centenary" do was on. Man that was loud, and the Police weren't interested.

2. Headlights - Any adjustments needed?

Never adjusted them (or put deflectors on) in Europe, but then again, we've never really ridden at night

I think there is, check out their website

Not really, apart from cars actually move out of the way... And in some large cities you may have to give way to traffic coming onto roundabouts. Watch to see what others do to see what the score is...

Have a look at some of the other postings here for general stuff. Ride as light as possible, make sure you have a punture repair kit etc... And make sure you have plenty of water with you as you can be miles from nowhere and need a drink.

But..... Have fun, that's what it's about....
