Default Lower Fairing panels, any good?

Hello,
I am debating whether to get a set of lower fairings for my 2000 SV650s - from Suzuki they are £274.99 colour matched.

Seems a lot for some plastic, I have seen some other posts regarding alternatives but no real info on colour matching and looks.

Also - does anyone know if the fairing actually increases wind protection so that it is noticable riding?....mine has a bikini fairing anyway so it will only be my legs that get shielded.

Seem to be some other lower fairings out there but not sure about quality, colour matching etc.

Cheers

dont know about on the curvy, but the fairing lowers on the pointy make a big difference, the ride seems way smoother and you dont get as much $hit on you or the bike

My curvy already had Suzuki lowers on when I bought it. Colour match is spot on.

Took them off a couple of weeks ago for cleaning and haven't put them back on yet. Went for a 100 mile ride the other day and didn't notice any difference in terms of wind protection.

They do keep the bike cleaner , or maybe they just hide the dirt better.
Probably give a bit of protection in the rain.

There's a thread where a group of us are trying to get together to bulk buy some lowers for £235, have a search and try and bring it back to life

I've got a set of lowers on mine, I do notice a difference on my legs, but it's not huge. They are pricey from Suzuki, you may want to try eBay, or indeed get involved in the lot that are trying to buy in bulk.

Failing that, I may have a set of suzuki ones for sale, in a used but good condition. Black in colour. PM for more details.

I'd be inclined to look at the third party aftermarket lowers, there's some great designs out there. Check out some of the links from the main site.
