Hi
This may be a little early for me to start thinking about upgrades and seeing as I haven't got the bike yet. Its arriving in March as its 09 registered. But I'm already thinking of the following upgrades: I think they will pro-long the life of the bike and enhance the looks too 1. Rear Hugger - Possibly carbon and from Skidmarkx 2. Extenda Fender - Again Skidmarkx 3. Double Bubble Screen - Airblade 4. R&G Tail Tidy 5. R&G Crash Bungs Are these upgrades too early. Am thinking they are must have items. Down the line I intend to get the following: 1. Full system exhaust - Need help with this 2. K&N air Filter - Does it need re-mapped 3. Alarm - Need help with this 4. HID light conversion Any comments are welcome Thanks Ram |

Fender Extender - Go directly to Pyramid Plastic's, after all they make them for everyone else.
Double Bubble Screen - Zero Gravity, the best quality and fit I have seen so far (closely followed by Fabbri) R&G Crash Bungs - Unfortunately if you don't want to modify the lower fairing then this is the way to go. Full System Exhaust - Depends what you are after, performance or sound? if you only want to hear the true V-twin sound then you might as well opt for a slip-on can, they offer no performance gains and require no ECU remap (PCIII's are OTT on the SV650) K&N Air Filter - I wouldn't expect to see a remap, the K&N only flows slightly better than the OEM and its biggest selling point is it is washable (OEM isn't). If you opt to go for a full system then I would go for a BMC air filter. Alarm - Wouldn't bother in my opinion, they tend to cause more problems than anything else. Also consider nobody takes notice of alarms anymore, a bike can also be easily picked up and thrown into the back of a van (where you can't hear the alarm). Best thing to do is get a decent lock and chain, bolt the bike to something solid. HID - The Pointy SV's have the best OEM lights in my opinion, no match for a car but that is obvious. I would first consider better bulbs, Osram Nightbreakers, if you feel they need improving. |

Cheers DD,
Will go for a decent chain and lock setup. The Xena XN18 looks mean combined with a beefy chain should be un-stealable lol |

And most of the people who saw the LED modification I DID make to my SV said that it wasn't as chavvy in RL as it sounded in its description :P
