Default Has anyone tried 'Ace bars'

Not sure if Ace bars have got anything to do with the Ace Cafe.

I was never quite happy with the standard bars on my naked, my elbows seemed to be sticking out and blocking the mirrors. So I got a pair of large spanners and held them in a natural position at the same reach as the bars and noticed that the spanners pointed down at about 15 degrees at the ends and about 40 degrees back.

Tried a set of ace bars which I thought would give me the above angles but they were too low for me, about the same height as the S model which is why I got the naked. Did not feel so safe on slow corners and it was not so 'flickable'.

Decided to get the welder out and have a go at making some ace bars with a higher rise out of some old handlebars.
Put the bars in the vice and swung on them for a strength test before putting them on the bike

Now got a nice comfortable tucked in position.

The welds have been cleaned up and painted.

Front of bike with the large Givi screen fitted, very effective at keeping off the wind blast, easy to get into three figures without realising it.

Like your home made ones.

I have thought of something similar as I converted my 'S' to handle bars but a bit difficult to get the right balance between comfort and feel to suit me. Tried about different and four different variations of risers but still not quite happy.

My current combinatio seems okay but needed streering lock reduced so it does not foul my damper.

Any chance of the Ace bars you tried ?

Cheers
Ben
