Over the last 2-3 days, i've done it 3 times now and i just need someone to let me know its my mistake and not the bikes.
When im changing up through the gears, it has occasionally gone into Neutral, but not neutral. Say im in 3rd going into 4th, clutch, gearchange throttle, revs and no go. Im sure its just me not banging in the gears high enough, but surly it shouldn't go into N? The Neutral light does not come up, it just doesn't go.. Quick blip of the clutch and a 2nd clunk into gear and it goes in fine.. Can someone let me know if i just have a "lazy foot" ![]() |

The bike, like a car, always passes though neutral when you change gear. The likely hood is as you say, you're foot is 'lazy' and not clicking up into gear properly.
Adjust the gear lever, so you find it easier ![]() |

Some boxes do have a few false nuetrals in them, espescialy if they've had a hard life or done serious mileage. A lot of free play in the linkage doesn't help either, or indeed, a lazy foot action.

I get false neutrals between 3rd-6th when i'm being lazy, going down the gears too. Just gotta kick it harder
![]() As for your comment Squirrel, i didn't think the bike boxes hit a real neutral like a car does between gears accept 1st and 2nd as they're sequential gearboxs...? |

Thats good, ta for that. I thought it may just be me, but you know what its like, new bike for me, nervous clunking and revving
![]() I feel better now, right, what weight equipment can you buy for feet ha ha... Nahhh, just be more carefull. Its only got 9400 miles, and had a good life so far so shouldn't be a worn bike issue. Cheers ![]() |

My embarrasing thing at the moment is stalling it when trying to cut through traffic (between 2 cars going from one side of cars to other).
Im so concerned about getting the angle right to be able to straighten up i've stalled it 3 times this week ![]() Hey, im used to a scooter with a much better turning angle, no clutch, and a lighter bike lol. It'll take me a couple more days, i'll be on the ball soon. Its suprising how much confidence the bike gives you after such a short period. |

The box does not go into a true "neutral" position on the gear selector barrel which is why the light does not come on, but the motion does have to disengage one gear before engaging the other, as FS pointed out you may find theat adjusting your gear lever (Probably lowering it slightly) helps stop you doing this.
