The ECU in your engine management system needs to be adjusted for the new exhaust system. There are 2 ways of doing this.
1) The "Yoshi" box allows the engineer to adjust the fueling at "Low, Medium & High" settings (revs I think..). For instance, my GSXR has +5, +5, +10 (%) to cater for the exhaust and the BMC air fliter. 2) The Power Commander will provide a means of adjustment every 250 revs, but is pretty pointless unless the guys doing it have a rolling road and experience in Dyno tuning. It also provides the ability to download specific "maps" to the ECU (for instance, you could download a "track day" map, specifically set up for running the bike on a circuit. Personally, for what you want a remap is fine, although I think £80 is a bit steep, but Itchy can give you a better idea on the price. I would certainly recommend the addition of a BMC air filter to complement the other work you are having done. If you are putting more fuel in, and getting it out quicker through the exhaust, you need to get a bigger volume of air into the chamber as quickly as possible. The stock air filter isn't really suitible, but it will run. I'm not a fountain of knowledge on these things, but that's what I've picked up over the last couple of years messing about with my bikes... . |

What Jelster said. HM racing should be able to tell you all this.
You need either, not both |

Being that the PC3 will be nearly 10 times the cost of the Yoshi tune, and for all intents and purposes will achieve more or less the same thing for your road riding... surely this is a non-brainer!
Steve Jordan do the Yoshi tune for £47, and it's just a case of booking it in with Steve.
