Default service help

bike is off for its 4000mile service in the morning (it has 4600 on the clock )

What should they be doing to the bike. I have been told that the spark plugs wont be changed, is this right at 4000 miles?

I have a K&N air filter, would they normally be changing the air filter? should i get i discount if they dont?

On all my other bikes i have not serviced them all in one... just changed oil and filters every month or so, adjusted chan when needed etc etc Anything else i should know? I would do the SV myself, but i want that all important stamp in the book

spark plugs aren't touched till the next one. Air filter is always checked but certainly shouldn't need changing. Other than that it's most just tightening bolts and the oil/filter.

wow..what a fast reply..cheers..

Another thing, i have a tapping sound in all the gears at around 4000rpm. Would this be fixed it the price of the service... Or would it be a warantee thingy?

tapping stays at same rate and loudness even when the revs rise.

From time to time i have a loud and fast tapping when i accelerate with a cold engine (40-60oC)

Should i expect all of these problems to be gone???

Unless you mention them, I doubt anything will be done.
Bikes are very noisy, though, the camchain on mine, for example is bloody annoying, but it's just something you have to put up with on SVs.
