Default accelerating rattle

When I'm accelerating I hear a rattle that sounds like I have pre-detonation but I was told that pre-detonation is "highly unlikely." Maybe I'm running too low of an octane? I'm very curious to hear what some of you have to say. Please help.

Detonation is unlikely, and thinking that you can hear it is equally as unlikely - the tell tale signs are most obviously very hot engine temperatures.

Possibly cam chain rattles. Sometimes the camchain tensioners pack up.

LOL I've rode with ear plugs before, not because I was trying to block the rattle, and I can still hear it. Cam chain rattle? Hhhuuummm... how can I check if it is the cam chain? Thank you for the help by the way.

the cam chain is suppose to rattle it's the noise that Svs make, every bike has it's noise, if it were a gear driven cam you'd hear a whine, if it were a ducati, you's hear the dry clutches,

Is that BASAT approved??

Some do, some dont. Mine used to a little. But once you understand what it is you're hearing you don't tend to hear it anymore. It becomes a natural noise of the engine.

I'd just get it confirmed by someone in the know if you're unsure.
