When looking for a front end conversion for the sv, can any forks from other bikes be used?
What about gsxr yokes and forks from a ducati? Is it possable, anyone done it.

It's all possible. Anything can be made to fit if you have the tools and know how.

Hmm... Train of thought approaching
![]() It's possible to fix spacing problems- I'm running a half-and-half mix of GSXR SRAD and Y-K2, which aren't quite a match but are pretty close. The calipers are spaced in and the mudguard's been spaced a little and bent a little. But since I was able to use a SRAD wheel and axle with the forks, the biggest risk of noncompatability was avoided- custom axles and wheel spacers are seriously pricey. And mudguards are tricky too since they only bend so much without breaking, or looking daft. So, if the forks you want to use have significantly (ie more than a couple off mm) differences in spacing, a lot of work and expense could be needed to fit it up- in that case, custom yokes could easily be cheaper. And you can do anything with custom yokes. Send Izax or someone a donor SV yoke set and the details of the forks you're using and you'll get a perfect match with your preferred offset, etc. Not cheap, but very cool looking and there's no question of bodgery. Still, the SRAD and Y-K2 750 forks are a good match for the SV- fairly close match of damping and spring rates, and they're just a little shorter. They're also good parts from what I'm told, though I've got nothing to compare them with. I reckon you'd be lucky to find something that'd both fit, and work as well without revalving. But it'd be more interesting than GSXR wouldn't it? Also considerably more bling ![]()

Psst.... 1990-1991 GSXR yokes, 1998-2002 R1 forks, discs and calipers, Thunderace wheel and GSXR speedo drive.

I'm not sure of the year but I do remember an Oldskool member mentioning that one of the proper GSXRs has a bolt-up-and-go yoke set for the SV. Though I don't recall which year, or how compatible other details- bar height, lock stops, steering lock- were.
