Default 010s any good !!

have been running bridgestone 010's for some time on my sv650k4 for about 2000 miles now they are still in very good condition, however i had an off a little while back in the wet & am wondering if maybe a change is in order cos of the comming bad weather. your views please should i change or are my tyres ok.

Why 010s? They don't make them any more (so it's just a question of who's got a few left in stock). The 020 is more than good enough, trust me.

But if you're going this route, then the Conti Road Attacks are simply better. And cheaper. And last longer.

Agree general good all round tyre is the Z6, but i also have to say that if you dont mind your front tyre only lasting about 5-6000 miles you could try the better Metz Sportec M1, realy sticky and good all round tyre.

Ofcourse this is my opinion and i have only ever had the M1 & Z6, but i have to say that i prefered the M1 over the Z6, cant pin it down, but it gave me more confidence.

Still did not stop me trying out the Z6 tyres to the edges on my ride down to portugal and they coped with all things.

I would have prefered the M1 for here in portugal because some of the roads are sooo smooth that the Z6 brakes away at the rear with even a tad of throtle, i just hope it does not at the front when i need to brake. And that is in the dry & not as if the tyres are not hot (when get on the bike they are already boiling hot from the sun, i mean hot)!!!

Then again the roads are not the same in the UK as here.

Got an 010 on the front and an 020 on the rear, never had a problem in the wet or winter.

If you are worried after your off then get them checked out properly

Personally I wouldnt bother changing them if they are OK, I'd just ride and wear them out and change then when they need replacing if I were you.

In another thread Not having a go Jonboy just seems a little inconsistent, you sure this was a B.A.S.A.T approved post

Yes he did, I remember the thread... BT014's, excellent tyre but maybe a little too sports orientated.

As you know i disagree with that statement. The 020 is a better all round tyre. The conti does have a slight advatage over the 020 in the wet, but i feel that its dry performance is less than the 020. The conti has a less than confidence building grip on the edge, having a twitcy fornt tyre dont help. I have ridden 2 other bikes with the contis just to make sure it wasnt my bike/set-up and they all handle the same.

I can only speak form experience, and have only had the Metz4's, 020's and the contis. I rate the 020 as a very good tyre.
