k5 Exhaust Help

I have asked this in the exhaust section without much luck but looking for a definitive answer. I am after a race can for my K5 SV650s. I was looking at Yoshi's on ebay but they say it fits the 03 in the ads and no dealers seem to know or reply.

I gave up with the Yoshi then and phoned Blue flame. The guy at the other end said all SV's are the same fitting That's not right me thinks, the 02 and 03 are completly different and so I did not trust his anwser to go and order one in case it won't fit.

So has anyone bought a exhaust advertised for a K3/K4 which also fits the K5. Are all the pointies the same. You would think that dealers who sell these for k3/k4's would have updated their websites and info by now if they are the same ?

if it helps, K2 and earlier are completely different exhaust fittings, K3 is just slightly different (to K5) and K4 and K5 should be the same afaik.

Yes, I thought their was no major changes from k4 to k5 apart from the black frame / wheels. My SV sounds like a scooter at the moment

the exhaust angle is diffrent on K3 to K4+

Someone else had a bit of a problem with this, Kate & hall13uk.

if it helps . . . blueflame dont actually know thereselves, they just send out a link pipe and hope for the best.

they probably do - but they are well known for sending out the wrong link pipe and generally crap customer service

what you want is a akrapovic full system in titanium road legal with a removable baffle. know someone who sells them for £590 excluding fitting which is very good, drop me a pm if you are intrested .

the sv's up to 02 are different fittings to the 03 that again is different to the k4 & k5's which are the same.

K4 and K5's are the same fitment. The K3 was slightly different.

Try a Laser duo-tech 3/4 system. Excellent quality and fit and it has a proper silencer bracket, not the usual wraparound band.

Just put a Scorpion carbon fibre exhaust on my K5 - its the link pipe which caused me a problem ( bought the can with no pipe - but it was v cheap )

If you can get hold of a K5 link pipe with the right inside diameter for the can your after, then bobs your uncle..

Ps i Emailed the Carbon can company and they would make me a link pipe, to suit for around 42 quid ( worth giving them a go )

I have just fitted the carbon can co from my old K3 to MRS Fuds K5, no problems & perfect fit.
