Default About To Buy An SV650S - But Where From?

Hi there.

Saw the £1 ride away offer in the Torygraph at the weekend and that sealed the deal on my return to two wheels I immediately popped tover to Infinity in Farnborough to have a look, and was pleasantly suprised by the sales guys. Both the bike salesman (got a test ride booked) and the guy in the clothing section (we were speculativley looking at kit for my wife) were friendly and helpful. Is this always the case there, or was I just lucky? I've not really been keeping up to speed with things in the bike world in the last few years, but was never a fan of the Carnell type dealers.

The other option would be George White in Slough as I work there, and they're doing the bike for £4199, even on the offer. Any opinions on them?

Tis a cracking forum you've got here. Been finding lots of good info, but will no doubt have lots of questions!

Iain

Surely if you work at George White, then you get the bike from them, or are you the accountant who doesnt like them giving stuff away

I have the same opinion about the Carnell, Infinitity Riossi type dealers. They are basically a finance company that sell bikes and accesories imo

Having just re-read my OP I can see the ambiguity - I work in Slough, not for George White!

Have had a test ride now entering final negotiations!

Having read my post and your original post, I too can see the problem. My excuse was I was half way through a bottle of vin rouge :P

I would still go to George White though as they seem to do some good deals

Never found the sales staff in the Slough branch much good mate! Mostly curt, unhelpful and not too clued up on what they were selling......If this is reflected in their aftersales service, I'd shop elsewhere.

However, each to their own.....pop into GW and sus' it out for yourself. You may have a better experience than me. They seem to move alot of stock and the workshop is always busy (Both mechanics come highly recommended by a friend of mine, himself a motorcycle mechanic for many years).

Good hunting!

Whatever you do don't go to Slough Motorbikes (or whatever that little shop on Farnham Road opposite Burnham Vauxhall is called these days). Although my wife got her GS500 from them the only decent guy was the salesman, who left to go and work for the JPS Norton team (shows how long ago it was). After that they were just crap. The MoT fail slip they wrote for me in 1990 was pure fiction and I never went back again. Of course, the staff might have changed in the intervening 15 years .
