Default Back from Nurburg, bike still there ... :(

Well I got back from Nurburg and completed 3 succesful laps of the ring. One of which was in the wet and was probably the scariest thing i've ever done. More scary infact than when I was riding back to my hotel hooning it down a nice open road at a very silly speed before turning a corner and being faced with a large roundabout.

OMFG!!! Hit the brakes but not much time to stop, what do I do now? Two options, one was to try and lean the bike round and take the first exit right, however with the tightness of the corner and the speed I was doing I would more than like have pegged out and low sided the bike.

So the second and final answer was to hit the roundabout straight on and hope for the best. So I hit the roundabout, fly up and then off this thing, before landing sideways in the grass on the otherside. Im then thrown off and slide off into the road.

We check the bike afterwards and the main damage seems to be on the front wheel which is bent to ****. Forks seem fine But im waiting for the insurance company to cart her back so I can do a full assesment of the bike.

I survived the accident as you can see with little more than a scraped shoulder where my bloody expensive belstaff jacket ripped apart All my leathers stayed together fine and are only scuffed.

Anyway, talk over, the moral of the story is, fear roundabouts!!! LOL

You can just about see my tyre tracks, where they start and where they leave the ground

You should have seen the faces on the people in the car waiting to pull out on the otherside of the roundabout ... was a picture

Oops....

Glad you're ok and seemingly quite jovial about the whole experience.

It was an amazing off. The blokes I went with have seen people die from less but was a fantastic crash

Good job you missed that roadsign - they can be a bit of a bugger if you hit 'em

i know how you feel got knocked off a few month ago, do you now how the bikes getting home?

i had to get a mate to come and pick me up which was a monumental hassle getting everything in the right place, i also am £2500 down until the other guys insurance pays out,

did the police come, i found then quite amusing but very, very good - super efficant in true german style
